What is a Demographic Researcher?

Demographic Researcher Job Description

Demographic researchers design, implement and manage demographic research projects. They must collect and analyze information using a variety of methods such as interviews and questionnaires in order to accomplish their research objectives.

 

They may be employed by private research organizations, government agencies or universities.

 

 

Typical Job Duties

• Prepare and present proposals for new demographic research projects

• Liaise with clients to gain an understanding of the objectives of the research project

• Refine research objectives

• Use an appropriate and creative methodology to create and manage a research project

• May use quantitative and/or qualitative methods during research

• Produce pilot and development work

• Analyze and evaluate research and interpret data

• Present results of research both orally and in writing and offer advice based on the research
