Diocese Director Job Description

The Diocesan Director is responsible for advancing the mission and vision of their organization (such as "Catholic Relief Services") in the (Arch) diocese and builds global solidarity by representing their organization in the (Arch) diocese, educating Catholics about Catholic Social Teaching and engaging Catholics, especially parishioners, in international concerns.

Typical Job Duties

• Report to the Bishop on international issues and the activities of the organization (such as "Catholic Relief Services")

• Share trends and information of the diocese with national and regional branches of their organization

• Build relationships with parishes to incorporate global concerns into broader parish-based social ministry

• Coordinate, manage and promote annual fundraising efforts

• Organize parish and diocesan events to educate about poverty, Catholic Social Teaching, particularly the call to global solidarity

• Develop, manage, or coordinate with a diocesan legislative network to involve Catholics in advocacy on behalf of issues of concern to the people the organization serves
