Intervention Worker Job Description
Intervention workers participate as part of a team that provides crisis assessments and follow up to clients who are experiencing a mental health crisis. Intervention workers provide services for clients such as telephone crisis prevention/intervention, supportive counseling, community outreach and referrals to mental health professionals.
Intervention Worker Job Duties
- Work as part of team which coordinates service with community partners
- Document and maintain comprehensive client records and reports
- Advocate on behalf of client and those in their support network
- Develop and implement crisis action plans to resolves crises and determine client’s needs for follow up
- Participate in liaison service planning with other service providers
- Conduct crisis assessment in person or by telephone
- Perform risk assessments to determine client’s level of risk of harm to self or others
