Music Video Director Job Description

Music video directors are responsible for directing music videos for entertainment, informational or educational purposes. Music video directors must also look after the creative direction of the project, which involves such tasks as interpreting the script, choosing the actors, as well as overseeing the special effects and choreography.

Music Video Director Job Duties

• Create a story for the video based on interpretation of the song
• Confer with designers to choose such elements as costumes, sets, lighting, sound and choreography
• Audition and select cast members for video
• Conduct rehearsals
• Direct and oversee artistic actions of cast
• Direct and oversee technical actions of crew
