Social Researcher Job Description
Social researchers are responsible for planning, designing and conducting social research projects.
They use a variety of computer software to collect and analyze data, which they use to prepare reports.
Typical Job Duties
• Prepare and present proposals for research projects
• Use an appropriate and creative methodology to design and manage research projects
• Offer advice based on the findings of research
• Disseminate and present the results of research
• Advice external organizations on matters concerned with social policy
• Search electronic databases for data
• Develop and test theories
• Apply a variety of research techniques to gather relevant information, including document analysis, surveys, case studies and interviews
• Liaise with and direct field interviewers
