Mental health case managers specialize in the mental and emotional well being of adults and children.
They may work in a variety of fields including social work or mental health and may be employed by public health centers, government agencies or non-profit organizations.
Typical Job Duties
• Assess the living, work, mental and social environments of clients
• Administer emotional and mental assessments
• Recommend classes and services to reduce the stressors within those environments
• Develop written individual mental health service plans which outline client goals and paths to achieving them
• Inform client of specific solutions to their mental health and emotional issues
• Ensure clients have access to appropriate treatment programs
• Maintain comprehensive client files
