Ministerial Youth Worker Job Description
Ministerial youth workers are responsible for building relationships with congregational youth, and spending time with them in group or individual settings. They also have responsibilities in administration and volunteer management.
Typical Job Duties
• Coordinate youth activities within the church
• Recruit, build and lead youth volunteer base
• Provide volunteers with access to training programs
• Liaise with other internal church leaders and leaders of other churches in order to maximize the impact of youth volunteers
• Build trusting relationships with youth by spending time with them in groups or individually
• Offer support and encouragement to youth
• Ensure that the youth have someone they can turn to in times of need
• Build contacts with local schools
• Support school lunch clubs, after school clubs and drop-ins
