Dancer Job Description
Dancers perform dance routines alone or as part of a group for live audiences or recorded productions. They use their bodies to express ideas, moods, music and drama.
Typical Job Duties
• Train vigorously year round to maintain peak physical fitness
• Maintain thorough understanding of proper nutritional needs
• Maintain current knowledge of new training methods
• Liaise with choreographers, directors and dance instructors
• Practice general dance movements as well as those that are specific to a production
• Attend production and performance auditions
• May work independently, with an agent or for a production company
