Proposal Writer Job Description
Proposal writers package their organization’s services into a written bid or proposal in a response to a Request for Proposal (RFP) by another organization. Proposal writers may work for government agencies or private organizations.
Typical Job Duties
• Receive and review RFPs
• Develop and prepare proposals in response to RFPs
• Respond to any requests for information from the sales team of their organization
• Work closely with other departments within the organization, such as the Sales and Contracts departments
• Negotiate contracts, agreements and provisions
• Administer private and government funds and contracts
• Ensure that proposals in progress are in compliance with instructions
• Ensure proper formatting of proposals
• Gather critical information for different personnel
