Curatorial Assistant Job Description
Curatorial assistants are responsible for assisting with various museum functions, such as the setup and maintenance of exhibits, fundraising efforts and administrative functions.
Typical Job Duties
• Assist the curator in the preparation and administration of the annual budget
• Assist with the coordination and execution of fundraising activities
• Ensure museum activities comply with operating, environmental, aesthetic and safety regulations, standards and applicable legislation
• Develop and coordinate special events and workshops
• Conduct research and design related to new exhibitions
• Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements
• Develop and coordinate educational programs
• Assist with recruiting, hiring, training, evaluating and supporting staff and volunteers
