Record sales managers direct the distribution of records to retailers and ultimately customers. Record sales managers coordinate sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas and goals.

 

They analyze sales statistics gathered by record company staff in order to determine sales potential and inventory requirements. 

 

 

Typical Job Duties

• Monitor customer preferences in order to determine where to focus sales efforts

• Track sales figures related to national and international projects

• Assist in developing annual sales targets and budgets

• Develop and implement sales strategies and plans to meet growth targets

• Maintain relationships with existing distributors and retailers

• Assess marketing potential of new and existing retailers, considering statistics and expenditures

• Confer or consult with department heads to plan advertising services
