Promotions Manager Job Description
Promotions managers plan and direct advertising policies and programs in order to create interest to purchase a product or service, or to attend an event.
They may produce such materials as posters and coupons, or organize give-aways and contests as part of their efforts.
Typical Job Duties
• Represent company at trade shows and other events
• Organize prospect files for promotional purposes
• Train and direct workers involved in producing advertisements or distributing promotional items
• Track program budgets and expenses
• Measure campaign responses against industry norms
• Plan and execute advertising strategies for the organization, cause or event
• Confer with department heads to discuss topics such as contracts and selection of media
• Coordinate activities of departments, such as sales, graphic arts, media, finance, and research
