Restaurateur Job Description
A restaurateur is someone who is responsible for the daily operations of a restaurant. This individual may be the owner, manager or a combination of the two, regardless of the size or level of success the restaurant is experiencing.
Typical Job Duties
• Ensure customers are satisfied by dealing with complaints and objections
• Providing an enjoyable atmosphere for customers and staff
• Monitor kitchen staff to ensure food quality and adherence to food handling and storage regulations
• Monitor front of house staff to ensure professional and warm customer service is being provided
• May be responsible for balancing and keeping books as well as financial records
• Typically responsible for the advertising and promotion of the restaurant
• Source and negotiate with suppliers and service contractors
