Radio Program Producer Job Description
Radio program producers coordinate all aspects of a radio program’s production, from initial concept creation to final production.
Typical Job Duties
• Create an idea for a radio program and initiate its production
• Manage the production activities of an existing radio program
• Oversee the marketing and promotion of the program
• Obtain the rights to a script or pieces of information, if applicable
• Negotiate terms with broadcasters
• Negotiate contracts with on-air personalities
• Oversee budgets and schedules
• Hire and manage key staff including directors, writers and production crew members
• Ensure that all post-production work is properly completed
