Wire Transfer Specialist Job Description

Wire transfer specialists are employed by banks and other financial institutions, and are responsible for performing operational support and administrative duties pertaining to monetary wire transfers.

Wire transfer specialists initiate outgoing domestic and international transactions by utilizing automated fund transfer delivery systems. 

Typical Job Duties

• Perform functions related to the processing of foreign currency transactions

• Validate the authenticity of an outgoing transaction

• Ensure that the accounts receiving credit are in agreement with the actual wire instructions received from the sending institution

• Credit appropriate bank accounts in the amount of the transfer

• Provide general assistance to wire transfer manager

• Monitor status of wire and funds transfers

• Perform account reconciliation duties

• Prepare routine correspondences

• Investigate and research disputes
