Trading Assistant Job Description

Trading assistants are responsible for ensuring that a business enterprise or a financial institution receives correct bond transactions or security prices in stock.

Trading assistants must also apply mathematical acumen for the purpose of assessing price levels on the exchange of securities. 

Typical Job Duties

• Assist the trading controller in achieving the agreed margins by individual category

• Obtain sales targets

• Perform promotional functions

• Use complex computer algorithms and statistical tools identify and appraise securities on behalf of a client or portfolio manager

• Collaborate with securities traders and portfolio executives

• Monitor and track portfolio cash positions

• Process corporate actions, daily trades and troubleshoot technical processes
