Religious Activities and Education Director Job Description
Religious Activities and Education Directors are responsible for directing and coordinating the activities of a denominational group.
They must plan and coordinate programs that are designed to promote religious education within a religious institution's schooling program.
Typical Job Duties
• Collaborate with other ministry members to establish goals and objectives for religious education programs, and to develop ways to encourage program participation
• Arrange for pastoral visits with the members of the religious congregation in order to provide information and resources relating to religious education programs
• Participate in denominational activities aimed at goals such as promoting interfaith understanding
• May provide religious counseling for individuals or groups
• Attend workshops, seminars and conferences in order to gain ideas for educational programs and activities
• Develop program budget and operate within its restrictions
• Train and supervise educational staff
• Develop and direct study courses and religious education programs within congregation
