Liturgist Job Description 

A liturgist directs all aspects of a public worship service and works with the music ministry. Liturgists ensure that the worship is conducted according to an outline of how the service is coordinated from start to finish.

Typical Job Duties

• Ensure cleanliness of church

• Ensure that each worship service worker is dressed properly

• Prepare the budget for each worship service

• Inspect any sound and lighting equipment that is to be used during the service

• Purchase materials to be used during worship service

• Confer with music director in order to choose songs to fit theme and content of worship service

• Turn the script in to the administration so the church service bulletins can be printed beforehand

• Find scriptures relating to theme of upcoming worship service

• Decide on scriptures to be read aloud to congregation
