Political consultants help promote the election of certain candidates or the interests of certain groups.

Political consultants plan campaign strategies, coordinate campaign staffs and volunteers, and arrange meetings for the purpose of publicizing candidates or causes.

Typical Job Duties

• Introduce politicians or ideas to the general public by means of advertising, press releases, fundraising drives and other activities

• Plan election campaigns on behalf of the candidate

• Arrange various publicity drives for the candidate, such as television and radio appearances and public meetings

• Prepare election schedule for the candidate

• Cover all administrative aspects concerning public relations for the candidate
