Community Services Director Job Description
Community service directors are responsible for planning, organizing and coordinating social service programs on behalf of a community outreach organization. They must oversee the program’s budget and policies regarding participant involvement, program requirements and its benefits.
Typical Job Duties
• Establish and maintain relationships with like-minded organizations and groups
• Determine program mandate and direction by analyzing community needs
• Recruit, interview and hire volunteers and staff
• Plan and administer program budgets
• Represent organization when dealing with governmental and media representatives
• Analyze proposed legislation to determine how organization may be impacted
• Provide consulting services to other organizations and internal staff regarding the interpretation of program related legislation
• Promote the programs and services of the organization to community groups
