Broadcast Assistant Job Description
Broadcast assistants provide practical assistance to radio or television producers to ensure that a broadcast runs smoothly. They perform key administrative tasks as well as assist in the planning, research and production of live and pre-recorded radio and television programs.
Typical Job Duties
• Update program or station website
• Ensure on-air and online content are cohesive
• Confer with marketing and advertising departments regarding competitions and prizes
• May contribute to the creative input of a show by writing cues or updating scripts
• Use digital editing software to edit audio packages
• Oversee the booking of studio time, equipment and facilities
• Arrange or oversee the work of freelance staff and program guests
• Conduct general research for productions
