Archive Assistant Job Description
Archive assistants are responsible for overseeing the holdings of archive collections. They must administer the acquisition, organizing, storage, disposal and retention of archived documents and records.
Job Duties
• Perform routine clerical duties
• Arrange for the acquisition of materials, as directed by the archivist
• Arrange for the preservation of the materials
• Arrange and organize documents in alphabetical, chronological or any other appropriate order
• Arrange, file and sort catalogue cards or databases
• Compile listings of materials contained in the collection
• Compile statistics related to the archived documents and records
