Recording engineers use a variety of sound recording equipment to produce, record and mix sounds for various productions such as films, television programs, live events, radio broadcasts and music recordings.
Typical Job Duties
• Operate a variety of sound equipment to produce and edit many different sounds
• Use processing equipment to record, edit and mix sounds
• Edit clarity and improve the sound of instruments and voices
• Combine separate sound recordings to create the appropriate sound for a given situation
• Troubleshoot problems and come up with solutions
• Supervise and delegate tasks to sound technicians and other employees
