Script Supervisor Job Description
Script supervisors work closely with the director and production team of a film or television production in order to ensure that the story in a script is properly represented on the screen.
Typical Job Duties
• Compile and record details of scenes, such as physical layout, costumes and action sequences
• Read script and prepare notes of action, properties and costumes to be used for each scene
• Listen to dialog and informs cast of deviations from script
• Time length of scenes
• Observe filming of production in order to record scene details, such as position, facial expression and camera position in relation to cast
• Refer to previously prepared notes to ensure sequence continuity during subsequent scenes
• Prepare and distribute script adjustments to cast and production personnel
• May prepare synopsis of production for advertising purposes
