Applicants must be 25 years of age or younger on the May 1 deadline, and residents of Alberta (Legally entitled to be or remain in Canada; and, who has had his or her primary residence in Alberta for one full year before applying to this grant stream.

Eligible film and video arts programs that will be accepted for assessment of educational or training merit are the following: any level of undergraduate studies with a minor or major in film and video arts; or a recognized program or appropriate mentorship, workshop, master class, or course with a focus on film and video art. Graduate programs or their equivalent are ineligible for consideration.
