Cataloguers are responsible for coding and storing books, journals, photographs, other printed materials and electronic resources. They must perform their duties in such a way that allows library patrons and employees to easily access these resources.

 

 

Typical Job Duties

• Receive new books, films, photographs, magazines, journals and other printed materials

• Properly document, organize, code and categorize newly received items

• Ensure library staff and patrons can easily access items

• Supervise catalogue assistants and other support staff
