Concert Promoter Job Description
Concert promoters act as a liaison for artists and venue representatives in order to schedule performance dates and details. Once the artist has been booked, the concert promoter can begin to market the show and finalize all of the relevant details surrounding the show.
Typical Job Duties
• Liaise with venue representatives and artist to negotiate details of concert, such as dates and rate of pay
• Communicate with newspapers and radio stations to arrange media announcements for upcoming show
• Work with venue to maximize its advertisement capabilities on behalf of the event
• Arrange for ticket and playbill printing
• Oversee marketing efforts
• Responsible for accommodations for the artists, their transportation to and from the venue and their travel arrangements after the show
• May oversee ticket sales at the door depending on the size of the show
• Oversee hiring of security personnel
• Ensure the show runs smoothly
