Television Censor Job Description
Television censors are responsible for ensuring that all television programming within a region conforms to established standards of appropriateness.
Television censors may be employed by self-policing associations, private broadcasting corporations, public broadcasting corporations, regional or federal Human Rights Commissions, and radio-television and telecommunications commissions.
Typical Job Duties
• Perform quality checks of channels
• Edit content using computer software and video editing equipment
• Censor inappropriate scenes including those that contain nudity, coarse language, violence or inappropriate subject matter
• Maintain log of censored content and submit daily activity reports to supervisor
